1º ESO: Revising the English Alphabet

Listen to the letters of the Alphabet in English:  

We say all the letters of the alphabet the same in British English and American English except for Z. In British English we say Zed. In American English we say Zee. 
 
Listen to the alphabet again but this time the letters are grouped by sound. 
The letters in each column all have the same vowel sound. Listen to the alphabet sounds as we read them by column:

    1º ESO - First Project: Introducing our Friend

    You are going to introduce a friend to the rest of your classmates with the help of a poster.
    You have to write and talk about his/her name, age, nationality, school, favourite subject, ... and about his/her family and home. 
    You can use your student's book for all the vocabulary and structures you need.
    This is a teamwork, students will be organized in groups. Remember that everybody in the group has to work.
    • Choose the photographs you are going to use. You can get free photos from Internet.
    • Bring the photos to the class and work on your project on the date your teacher tells you.
    • Decorate your poster.
    • Present your project on the scheduled date.

    2º ESO: An Amazing Adventure

    You are going to talk about an exciting outdoor adventure you are living with a friend or group of friends.
    With the help of an Impress Presentation, you  have to:
    • Talk about the people who go with you.
    • Talk about your daily routine during your trip or adventure.
    • Talk about the things you love/like/enjoy/dislike/hate/can't stand or don't mind doing.
    • Show some photos to your classmates and tell them what you are doing in the photos.
    • Talk about your plans for the following day or days. 
    You can use your student's book and notebook for all the vocabulary and structures you need.
    This is a teamwork, students will be organized in groups of three. Remember that everybody in the group has to work.
    You can use Internet to find all the images you need for your presentation. Remember to use only keywords in the slides to help you talk. Here you have an example:

        MY BEST FRIEND - 1º ESO

        My Best Friend is your final project this year.
        You are going to introduce 'your best friend' to the rest of the class. Talk about his/her:
        • Name
        • Age
        • Nationality
        • Appearance
        • Family
        • Daily routine
        • School (timetable, school subjects, ...)
        • Free time activities
        • Clothes (describe the clothes she is wearing in 1 or 2 photos)
        • Home (rooms, favourite room,furniture ...)
        • Favourite food 
        • Choose, at least, one photo to describe what he/she is doing, the weather and what he/she is wearing at that moment.
        Make an Impress presentation to help you present your best friend. You can only use photos and tips to help you talk about your friend. Here you have an example:

        DESCRIBING A FAMILY

        Talk about an imaginary friend. Describe him/her (age, nationality, appearance, favourite colour, sport ...) and talk about his or her family.
        You can get the photos you need from the Internet:
        Remember to look at Unit 1 in your book for all the vocabulary and structures you need.

        This is a teamwork, students will be organized in groups of three by the teachers. Remember that everybody in the group has to work.
        • Choose the photograph(s) you are going to use.
        • Write a draft describing your friend and family.
        • Organize all the information and prepare your task using coloured paper and the decoration you want.
        • Present it orally on  December 10th -11th.

        My daily routine

        Describe a typical daily routine. Talk about what a person does at different times of the day (morning, afternoon, evening, night).
        Make a PowerPoint presentation to help you describe his/her daily routine.

        Helpful tips:
        • Use google to find the pictures you need.
        • Write down the times and action verbs next to the pictures to help you with your presentation.
        • Use the vocabulary and grammar structures you have learnt (daily routine verbs, sports, free time activities, school subjects, prepositions of time and place, present simple, frequency adverbs, time expressions...)
        • Look at the following PowerPoint presentations as examples of what you have to do.
